Land and Heart Project Puerto Rico 2020

UPDATED MARCH 26, 2019

FSNI was on the ground in Puerto Rico on March 7th,  for 10 days!!!  We are blessed to able to see the execution of our 4th Relief Trip since the Hurricane in 2017.  We want to thank our local Partners in Aguadilla, San Juan, Ponce, Trujillo Alto, and Lares for their continued dedication to working with us to help families across the island who are in need!

For our Puerto Rico Relief Phase 3, we decided to partner with a Greek Organization called Mu Sigma Upsilon Sorority Incorporated. These amazingly talented and dedicated women worked with us on our ongoing projects, and even helped to grow new missions as well.

They also fundraised $5,166 dollars to assist Puerto Rico with items needed on the ground (dollar for dollar). Together, all 21 of us embarked on a journey to help the island of Puerto Rico, and over the upcoming weeks we will show some of the achievements that were made on our trip. The bonds made in just 5 short (yet extremely long) days will last a life time, and we at FSNI are grateful to be able work with such a powerful group of women! Thank you!!!

We are set to travel to Puerto Rico on our 4th Relief Trip next month!  We are excited to be partnering with a National Organization Call MSU who with the help of their team leaders have managed to organize volunteers as well as fundraising goals in order to provide more aide to Puerto Rico!

We are quite excited to work with them, as this is a long term goal of FSNI, to provide ongoing assistance to the island while empowering others to join our efforts and learn how to navigate the issues that arise with relief work.

All of this would not have been possible without London Sanders  (BossLadyBluePrint) who honored FSNI for our efforts last year at their annual gala, and was the largest donor to our Phase 2 Relief Efforts!   During that event we were able to connect with  MSU’s National Philanthropic Chair who inquired on how they could get involved.  Seven months later, we are organizing our largest relief trip to date with their partnership!

We have gathered approximately $9,100 of goods and materials to bring down to the island!  Thank you for all of your donations and we will be sharing a list of the inventory from our previous trip for transparency purposes.  Every dollar goes to PR!

FSNI – Family Services Network International was tasked with sending aide to Puerto Rico after Hurricane Maria in September 2017.  We were able to help the people with essentials like water, food, clothing, furniture, adult care items, female hygiene items, and baby items just to name a few.

We spent one week visiting families in 11 different cities across the island and created relationships with several nursing homes, and local relief centers/non-profits.  The goal was to create a network of individuals and organizations who we could partner with to provide aide in a more efficient manner during the second phase of our project.

All of the funds donated will go to providing aide to the people of Puerto Rico.  FSNNY will be sponsoring the transportation cost which allows for us to use 100% of the proceeds for the people of Puerto Rico!

Our goal on the first trip was to raise $3000 and we accomplished it thanks to the support of so many people who heard about our campaign.

This time we want to raise $10,000!!!

We are looking to provide relief for the families who are located in areas difficult to reach, and those who were still waiting on government aide.  We want to provide these resources to those that can’t be reached conventionally.

Our Phase 2 trip is set for September 14 – 23rd.  We thank you in advance for helping us give back to Puerto Rico and will keep you posted on our mission as we continue to prepare!

Phase 1 – November 14, 2017

Family Services Network International is happy to report that we went to Puerto Rico with a 40ft container of relief goods and delivered those goods to the folks in need.  We visited 11 cities throughout Puerto Rico.   Here are some of the places that we documented:  Aguadilla (el pueblo, Guerrero), Isabela, Aguada, Moca, Aponte, Ponce, Guayama, Utuado, Cayey, San Juan, Carolina, not to mention all the places we drove through to get to our destinations.   During our trip, we took video and pictures of the conditions to better prepare ourselves for future relief work.  We made several connections with local businesses and groups and will be partnering with them on future trips to the region.

Many other agencies typically use donated funds to help cover costs of travel and personnel, however FSNI did not follow this model.   As an agency we covered those expenses allowing for your donations to get to those in need “dollar for dollar”!

We are currently collecting donations at our Bushwick Location:

FSNI – 1420 Bushwick Ave, Brooklyn NY 11207

We will be gathering items here until shipping has been arranged.  Any further questions, feel free to contact the office of the President/CEO or HR/Special Projects for further details.
